A Bit About Us
Universal Rental Services Ltd. began under the current ownership structure in 2002 when
the three founders, Bob Patterson, Don Maclean and Scott Johnston put together a plan to
purchase a branch location from Stephenson’s Rental. The three partners looked to the Fergus
location where Jim Sinclair was store manager. In October of 2002 the partners purchased
the store from the previous owners and brought Mr. Sinclair on as a partner in the new
company, “Fergus Rental Services”. The company moved the operation from its original
strip mall setting into a completely refurbished 5700 sq ft. shop in December of 2003.

In May of 2004 Fergus Rental Services acquired Universal Rental Services in nearby
Orangeville, some 30 km down the road from Fergus. Universal Rental Services had
been a family run business that opened their doors in 1966. In March of 2006 the two
companies amalgamated to form one new company; Universal Rental Services Ltd.
The head office is located in Fergus where all of the administration duties are conducted.
Everyone involved in Universal Rental Services takes a great deal of pride in the business.

 
Universal Rental Services' Mission/Vision
Universal Rental's mission is to become the leading exclusive full-service equipment rental, sales and service company in Orangeville and Fergus. Therefore the company's strategy is to create a limited geographical niche for itself where there are no potential competitors. Universal Rental's vision is to continue to expand its service to other areas. The company's coverage area is constantly increasing, as the areas are becoming aware of the company's presence. Employee focus and customer service will be the creed of all involved in Universal Rental Services Ltd.
